About Close up Magician Richard Stone
Richard Stone began his obsession with close up magic at the age of 15 when a close friend at school showed him the disappearing hanky trick. After weeks of nagging his friend to show him how it was done, Richard decided to part with his dinner money and eventually was shown how it was done. Even though he starved that day (Ahh); as they say, the rest is history.
After hundreds of hours practising and many evenings spent entertaining family and friends to their impatience, it wasn't till about 10 years ago when he discovered one of the most famous books in magic literature; 'Royal Road to Card Magic' by Jean Hugard (known as the card manipulators bible) that really captured his imagination for the art of card magic.
After many hours a day for several years practising sleight of hand, it was destined for Richard Stone to become a full-time professional close up magician.
As a member of The Magic Circle and the International Brotherhood of Magicians (IBM), Richard Stone's close-up magic is far from producing rabbits from a top hat and sawing a woman in half, but rather an elegant display of pure sleight of hand that captures and astonish the imagination of any bystander.
